The State Library of North Carolina will digitally reproduce (scan) their holdings by request as a service to their patrons. The State Library of North Carolina reserves the right to refuse such a request for any reason, including if the Digitization staff determine that digital reproduction would cause irreparable damage to the original item or if the item is already freely and readily accessible in digital format.

How to Order

To request scan(s) of selected materials from the State Library of North Carolina, follow the instructions below:

1. Print out the Digital Reproduction Request Form
   (8.5" x 14" form)


2. Fill out the Form for the requested items. Sign the form. Unsigned forms will not be processed.


3. Only fill out/submit ONE request form at any given time. When your scanning request has been filled and your scans received, you may fill out an additional request form.


4. Attach payment to completed request form. The State Library of North Carolina will only accept checks or money orders. Make checks payable to: Department of Cultural Resources.


5. If you are a State Agency and wish to request scans, you may pay through e-payment. See e-payment instructions on form.
