Guidelines

In response to a request for information from published sources, the staff will attempt to answer one question about one person at a specific time in a specific county. Up to five indexes may be searched for each request. Due to staffing contraints, we are unable to search microforms or unindexed materials for patrons.

Up to fifteen photocopies may be provided for each request at a cost of three dollars. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order might involve violation of copyright law. Patron is responsible for copyright compliance.

Genealogical Services is only able to respond to requests for information about North Carolina ancestors from patrons who reside outside of North Carolina.

A list of professional genealogical researchers is available upon request.

Please enclose a legal-size, self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) with all mail inquiries.
