2007-2008 Career Enrichment Program

How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in the State Library’s federally funded LSTA 2007-2008 Career Enrichment Program. This statewide project provides reimbursement funds to staff from eligible North Carolina public, school, academic, special and state agency libraries to attend selected professional conferences. Please read the Information & Guidelines or (pdf) before completing an application. There will be three application cycles, each with its own deadline. Program funds will support library staff attendance at the following conferences in 2007-2008:

TO APPLY

  1. Determine Eligibility

This program is open to individuals who:

  1. Print Eligibility Certification

*Only public school, state agency, and special libraries will be required to complete and submit a form certifying eligibility (Appendix B, C, or D.doc). See Criteria for Eligibility, pages III-2,3,4 of Library Services & Technology Act Plan for Implementation in North Carolina – 2003-2007 (pdf).

  1. Calculate Estimated Expenses

Complete Appendix A (doc) to calculate proposed expenses (this form is for applicant use only and does not need to be submitted). If current registration information is not available, estimate your registration amount based on last year’s conference. Costs can be found via the links to the conferences in the table above.

Applicants need to register directly with the conference organization, which can be done at any time. Applicants may pay registration fees and/or make travel and hotel reservations prior to learning whether they have been awarded funding; however, only those selected for funding will be reimbursed.

  1. Complete Career Enrichment Program Online Application Form
  1. Complete Signature Page

Once you have submitted your online application, you will receive a confirmation email with a Signature Page attached. Print this page, obtain required signatures, and fax or mail with supporting documents.
Applications are not complete without this document.
