It is an evolving statewide, collaborative access to special collections and digitization project.
The Statistical Report of North Carolina Public Libraries is a compilation and analysis of selected data. The tables provide an overview of the staff, finances, collections, services, usage, and automation in North Carolina's public libraries.
The NC State Publications Clearinghouse, combined with the services of the State Library and those of the participating Depository Libraries, enables citizens from all areas of North Carolina to have timely and easy access to the valuable current and historical publications of their state government. The Clearinghouse is responsible for collecting, classifying, cataloging and distributing the publications of state government for the Depository Library System, a program of the State Library, which is designated as the official, complete and permanent depository for all State publications.
Reference service is available to North Carolina state agency employees for work-related inquiries and to educators, students and researchers on topics relating to North Carolina history, government, data/demographics, and genealogy.
A digital collection of current and historical North Carolina state publications. The types of publications include informational brochures and pamphlets, various types of reports (annual, biennial, technical, statistical, etc.), serial publications (newsletters, checklists, magazines, etc.), handbooks, studies and a variety of other information resources produced by the government. The focus of the collection is on state government publications from 2002 to current, but will also feature historical North Carolina publications of enduring value that have been scanned from their original print format. Because new publications will be added to this digital collection, the database will be updated monthly.
Videos and DVDs are loaned directly to North Carolina state agency employees and to libraries across the state. Videos and DVDs may be requested by North Carolina residents through their local public library.
