Recently, I had finished reading all of Sue Grafton’s Kinsey Milhone Alphabet Mysteries (A is for Alibi etc.) and was looking for another series to start in its place.  I came across the V.I. Warshawski series, by Sara Paretsky, coincidentally started in the same year as Grafton’s series and also featuring a young female detective.. In the third book of the series, my favorite so far, Private detective V.I. "Vic" Warshawski begins investigating the theft of five million dollars from a local monastery where her estranged aunt Rosa works as a bookkeeper. The investigation widens to include a secretive Catholic society called Corpus Christi and even the Chicago area Mob, not to mention several physical attacks on Warshawksi herself.  Delve into this tale of greed, deception, and assassination by ordering this title online through the book links at the top, by calling NCLBPH and requesting a copy or by downloading the title from BARD.
