Talking Book Number: DB 54003**

**Note: Talking Book Number refers to a multiple-book cartridge that contains Death on the Nile, but is titled Murder on the Orient Express.

As a follow-up to my last review, I read another of Agatha Christie’s mysteries, this one perhaps more famous than the last.  A young, wealthy woman Linnet Ridgeway hires the fiancé of a friend of hers as her land agent for an estate she has recently purchased and renovated.  Within a month’s time, Linnet has married her friend’s fiancé, and the two are headed to Egypt for a honeymoon cruise up the Nile River.  Unbeknownst to them, her jilted friend shows up in Egypt and boards their cruiseship as a paying passenger.  Linnet’s financial trustee shows up as well, all the way from New York at a moment's notice, upon hearing of her recent marriage.  A cousin of Linnet’s and his mother make the trip as well, along with an assortment of seemingly related and unrelated passengers from various parts of the world.  Not long after the cruise sets sail, the jilted friend shoots her former fiancé in the leg during a drunken tirade, and Linnet ends up dead herself, the victim of a gunshot wound to the head at close range.  The evidence clearly shows that the jilted friend couldn’t have fired that second shot, so then who did?  Who killed Linnet Ridgeway and then killed several others who were on the cusp of divulging the truth?
