NC LIVE logo

If you used the Government and Heritage Library’s (GHL) online resources, you probably saw a page pop up that says, “Brought to you by NC LIVE.”  Our partnership with NC LIVE provides GHL and its users electronic access to digital content covering careers, business, investing, health, history, and genealogy. Content includes an online collection of 1.4 billion full-text articles, eBooks, streaming videos, digitized newspapers, language learning tools, and more.

What is NC LIVE?

NC LIVE was founded in 1997 by representatives from the NC Community Colleges, the NC Independent Colleges and Universities, the NC Public Library Directors Association, the University of North Carolina and the State Library of North Carolina. NC LIVE is a consortium dedicated to helping North Carolina libraries in their efforts to support education, enhance statewide economic development, and improve the quality of life of their communities. NC LIVE member libraries belong to four communities of interest: public libraries, community colleges, independent colleges and universities, and the UNC system campuses.

How do I access NC LIVE Resources?

All North Carolinians may use NC LIVE resources with your GHL or local library card. Online resources are designed for at-home use and are available from any internet connection via GHL’s Online Resources website page and through the NC LIVE website (https://www.nclive.org/).
