  • In accordance with Governor Roy Cooper’s Executive Order 117 and Wake County Government’s order to stay at home to help limit the spread of COVID-19, the NC Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped is limiting certain operations. We will not be mailing any materials or accepting any materials returned after Friday, March 27. Please do not send any materials back until you are notified that we are accepting materials by return mail.
  • While mailing operations are suspended, you can download titles to an android, kindle fire, or iOS device for easy playback through the Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) service. You can also download the books to a USB drive for use with your digital player. The North Carolina Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NCLBPH) is a special public library that circulates books and magazines especially made for persons who cannot use regular printed material because of a visual or physical disability. The library is located in Raleigh, but mails materials throughout the state. The NCLBPH is a state agency operated by the State Library of North Carolina as a part of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. It is also a part of the network of regional libraries operated by the Library of Congress National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS).
