  • Search the Catalog - the library has an online catalog that allows you to search, find and even download more than 100,000 digital talking books, braille and large print books covering fiction and non-fiction. The catalog is your oyster. Open it and Get Reading!!!
  • Book-Sighted - the Library's Book Blogs 
    • Allen's List - Reader's Advisor, Allen Wight offers some fun themed (and unthemed) lists of things to read next and inspire you to read more.
    • Berkov's Bookshelf - Collections Librarian Joshua Berkov shares his picks, insight and reviews of series, authors, and new titles coming to the library's shelves.
    • Patron Page Turners - Enjoy book reviews by patrons and library staff. Submit a book review yourself!
    • RA-Likes - Recommended reading from our Readers' Advisors. Sign up today and you'll get notified by email as they get posted.
  • Book Clubs - where library patrons get together, read and discuss books
    • Phone-It-In Book Club - The library's monthly telephone book discussion group. See what the group is reading and check out the reviews by the group.
    • VIP Book Club - Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources’ Visually Impaired Program and the library present the VIP Book Club.
  • Braille Display Pilot Resources - these are resources intended for the Library's Braille Display Pilot project. It also contains a section on how to use BARD with a Braille Display for anyone.
  • Digital Talking Book Player - Enjoy clean, crisp, wonderful, fully accessible, digital talking books on your very own free NLS Digital Talking Book Player.
  • Download Books and Magazines -  Why wait for your items in the mail? Download your books and magazines so you can play them when you want them on a Digital Talking Book Player or on your iPhone, iPad, Kindle or Android mobile device.
  • Heard Any Good Books Lately? - is regular a podcast produced by North Carolina Reading Service and brought to you by the Friends of NCLBPH. It features information about new and the most popular books checked out of the library and other interesting stories about older books.
  • Notable On NOBLE - a great way to sample locally recorded digital books and magazines. Each episode highlights local recordings on the library's NOBLE site. Your next great read may be something we highlight on the show.
  • Reader's Corner - Useful resources for readers. Dedicated to the reader and their needs.
  • Summer Reading - Join the library's Annual Summer Reading program. Adults, Teens and Kids, read books and earn prizes!!!
  • Talking Book Topics - Talking Book Topics lists digital talking books and magazines available through NLS and carries news of developments and activities in services to people who are blind, visually impaired, or cannot read standard print material because of an organic physical disability.
  • Top Tens (10) - The Top 10 Most Wanted list, Top 10 Most Read BARD list and all kinds of other Best Seller Lists. See what everyone is reading, what's popular.
