Librarian I - West Branch, Rowan Public Library


This position supervises the daily operations and staff of RPL-West; provides personal assistance to users in pursuit of information; promotes and facilitates access to information; plans and conducts adult programs; identifies, initiates and develops community partnership opportunities; determines information service needs and assists in developing ways to improve branch services; assists with collection maintenance; and performs related duties as required; evening and weekend work required. Requires knowledge of library practices, procedures and resources, general reference services and resources, trending library and information technologies, and strong public speaking, written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications: Requires a Master’s Degree in Library Science or equivalent combination of education and experience; ALA accredited degree preferred. All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Public Library or community outreach experience and customer service experience preferred.

Salary: $41,000 - $45,100
