Join librarians from around the state to discuss summer 2020 program plans and hear from expert presenters with additional information. Jasmine Rockwell, State Library of North Carolina’s Youth Services Consultant, will share information about summer feeding programs, what the Collaborative Summer Library Program is and how to be involved with the creating future summer programs, and the importance of data. Appalachian State University Assistant Professors Jennifer Luetkemeyer and Jewel Davis will provide content pertaining to planning, partnerships, and the importance of summer learning programs, and content pertaining to programming with an emphasis on diversity, respectively.

Participants will gain knowledge of new kinds of programming ideas, an understanding of the importance of diversity, how to incorporate more diversity in programming activities, and a deeper understanding about the importance of working with community partners to create a more holistic program.

Choose from one of three locations.

Tuesday, January 7th, Braswell Memorial Library, Rocky Mount

Wednesday, January 8th, Greensboro Public Library, Main

Friday, January 10th, Henderson County Public Library, Main, Hendersonville

All workshops will be from 9 AM – 3 PM with a working lunch provided.

Registration is limited to 40 people. A wait list will be created if necessary.
