Acquisitions Librarian - John R. Dover Memorial Library, Gardner-Webb University


Responsible for acquisition of library materials including vendor negotiations, entering consortial agreements, soliciting discounts, and processing new materials. Tracks library budget and assists with grant writing. Provides face-to-face and online IL instruction, including ENGL 102 Writing Composition, upper level seminar courses, and an online IL course. Provides reference services, including chat; serves as liaison to discipline areas. 12-month, non-tenure position.

Qualifications: MLS (or equivalent) from ALA-accredited program. Adaptable to change, including prioritization of projects & duties. Knowledge & application of emerging trends in collection & fiscal planning. Advanced knowledge of Excel & accounting. Ability to work collaboratively with others. Ability to speak to various audiences & to listen & respond to patron needs with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism. Ability to manage data, documents, & other information locally & via online networks.
