Collections & Access Leader - Charlotte Mecklenburg Library


The Collections & Access Leader/ Library Manager provides strategic and operating leadership to the delivery of professional library collections, materials, resources, and services to the community. Making day-to-day decisions affecting library collections and best practices for delivering access at all service points, including how these collections are evaluated / purchased; discovered/accessed; and managed for optimal usage. Overseeing the efficient delivery of a consistently excellent level of customer experience at all access points. Seeing and understanding the big picture to drive increases in circulation and library use through collection development, service delivery changes and merchandising of resources. Reviewing, interpreting, and making recommendations on policies and procedures. Serving as a liaison, both internally and externally, on matters pertaining to library collections and access delivery.

Qualifications: Minimum 5-10 years successful and progressive Library leadership. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and track spending to ensure financial policies and procedures are followed and accurate reporting occurs. Positive energy and spirit that inspire fellow employees. Demonstrated high-energy, highly interpersonal leadership style with a bias for personal face-to-face interactions in the field with employees at their work site.
