Library Director - Cumberland County Public Library and Information Center


This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a history of successful transformational leadership who wants to be a part of a significant change effort. The incoming Library Director must value teamwork and collaboration, as well as champion outstanding service while holding high standards for self and others. The new Library Director will report to an Assistant County Manager. The individual selected for this key role will lead a Department of approximately 150 FTE employees with an annual budget of $10 million. The Cumberland County Public Library consists of the Headquarters Library and seven (7) branches, each with unique programming and a particular focus. In addition to leading a programming and community service vision, the Library Director is the staff liaison to the Cumberland County Library Board of Trustees and the Friends of the Library.

Qualifications: A minimum of an MSL and NC Public Librarian Certification; well-rounded experience across library service divisions with 8 or more years of successful and progressive levels of responsibility to include 6 years of supervisory experience culminating in a role equivalent to Director or an Assistant or Division Director.

Salary: $90,000 – $115,000
