Description: The Dover Memorial Library at Gardner-Webb University is hiring a Reference and Instruction Librarian responsible for coordinating the library’s reference services and providing information literacy instruction. Responsibilities include coordinating and staffing the reference services schedule, training student workers and graduate assistants on basic reference duties, and collecting and analyzing reference services statistics each semester. As a faculty librarian, this position would teach information literacy instruction sessions for classes in undergraduate and graduate programs, participate on university committees, and act as library liaison to one or more academic departments. As a member of the library team, this position helps provide operational support for the library, participates in collections management, and assists with other library projects. Work schedule may include occasional nights or weekends.

Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS or within 6 or fewer hours of graduation. Experience working in an academic library preferred. Experience the LibApps platform preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills Commitment to working effectively as part of the library team. Excellent organization and follow-through skills Attention to detail Ability to collect and analyze statistical data.
