Annual Report

The Annual Statistical Report will open on July 20, 2020 and be due on October 2, 2020. Instructions and training materials will be available in June.

For guidance on tracking statistics, please refer to the FAQ document. General information regarding local COVID-19 responses will be collected on the FY2020 survey. Public Library Management

State Aid

The timeline for the FY20-21 North Carolina State Aid packet has been modified.  FY20-21 packets will be available online as of July 20, 2020 with completed applications due by close of business day on October 2, 2020.

Government & Heritage Library

The library building is closed to the public. Access online resources via our website or chat with a librarian Monday-Friday 8-5pm.

Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped

LBPH continues to offer service by phone and email, and patrons have access to the collection through the online catalog. BARD is available for those who use the service and patrons who are not signed up for BARD service can enroll in the service at here or by calling are library at 1-888-388-2460.




The U.S. Census Bureau has suspended field operations until April 1. More information about how the Census timeline has been affected can be found here. All households can continue to respond to the census online at, over the phone, or by paper form (if one was received). For updates and more information visit Library Development's Census 2020 page.


Online resources remain available to residents across the state with a library card. NC Live staff are working remotely and the help desk will continue to operate via email and chat.

North Carolina Humanities Council

All NCHC program events are canceled through 5/31/20. All of the pending summer Let's Talk About It applications have been deferred to the Fall 2020 LTAI cycle. See NCHC website for more updates.


North Carolina Public Library Association

The application deadline for the NCLA Leadership Institute have been extended to April 30, 2020. See the Institute's website for further details.
