We are excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Tiwanna Nevels as the Assistant State Librarian for the State Library of North Carolina.

The State Library of North Carolina and the State Archives of North Carolina are pleased to announce that the North Carolina Digital Collections site will be upgraded on June 30, 2023! 

The State Library of North Carolina announced the 2023-2024 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant awardees today. This year's federal allotment will be distributed on behalf of North Carolina's libraries through programs and services available under the North Carolina LSTA Five Year Plan.

We are pleased to announce the State Library is the new digital home of North Carolina Literary Trails. Formerly under the North Carolina Arts Council, the North Carolina Literary Trails were created to document and share the state’s rich literary heritage.

The State Library has submitted to IMLS our Five Year Plan for 2023-2027.  This plan takes into account findings and recommendations from the required evaluation of our current Five Year Plan (2018-2022) along with a needs assessment.

The SLNC Government & Heritage Library is pleased to announce the addition of two new digital collections to its subscription offerings: the Adam Matthew Colonial America and  Colonial Caribbean primary source collections. These collections are available on site at the Government & Heritage Library or online from anywhere to users with an SLNC Government & Heritage Library card.
