Description: Report to and assist the Director of Library Services in planning and implementing effective literacy instruction, reference, circulation services, programming, and the preparation of all resources for library use. Work in conjunction with the professional library staff to provide support and reference services to students, faculty, and staff in the community college setting; serve as supervisor for the library staff and operations in the absence of the Director; teach information literacy instruction; assist with collection development; serve as liaison to faculty in assigned academic disciplines; create web-based subject and course research guides; supervise student work-studies; knowledge of and assist with technical services, including cataloging ; assist with library web presence, including website and social media outlets; function as part of a team that works a flexible night and weekend rotation; relate well to students, co-workers, and the general public, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: MLS degree, or equivalent, from an accredited ALA graduate program is required. A strong commitment to high-quality customer service, and teamwork in the community college setting are desirable. The preferred candidate will have a proficient knowledge of computer applications and a working knowledge of an automated library system.
