Established in 1812, the State Library of North Carolina (SLNC) provides exceptional library service and exceptional service to libraries.

We enrich the lives of North Carolinians through access to information resources; we strengthen communities through exceptional library services; and we inspire and support literacy and lifelong learning for all North Carolinians. The State Library is a division of the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
