DESCRIPTION
Charlotte Mecklenburg Library is looking for Access Service Managers at five of our locations: Cornelius, Davidson, Myers Park, Plaza Midwood and South Boulevard. The Access Service Manager leads staff in providing quality customer service and promotes the library’s collections and services. Duties include resolving complex customer service issues, including complaints and account disputes; exercising authority to negotiate and approve fee reductions or cancellations of administrative holds. Assess staffing needs and lead workforce planning efforts; conduct interviews, make hiring decisions, assign duties, evaluate performance, and address personnel matters. Supervise circulation operations, including collection maintenance, weeding, shelving, sorting, and retrieval. Ensure timely processing of holds and requests and reconcile minor collection discrepancies. Seve as the designated Manager on Duty in the absence of the Branch Manager, overseeing all aspects of branch operations, including personnel management, facility oversight, and the resolution of safety and security matters.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of one year of library service and administrative experience with prior supervisory and customer service experience. Demonstrated leadership in facilitating collaborative problem solving and group decision-making.
