Description: The Adult Services Librarian is responsible for the provision of library services for all ages to include circulation, reference, reader’s advisory, public service desk duties in person, online and by telephone with a goal of responsive, excellent customer service. This position plans, publicizes, prepares and performs weekly virtual and/or in-branch programs for adults. Collection Development responsibilities include selection recommendations for adult materials, weeding, and collection maintenance for a branch library. Other duties include conducting tours, preparing PR materials and merchandising the branch collection. This position will assist customers with public computers, online assistance, downloading materials and general computer questions and is responsible for social media/ web responsibilities.
Qualifications: Master of Library Science (MLIS) degree from an ALA accredited library school. Must obtain certification of the North Carolina Public Librarian Certification Commission.
Salary: $40,601.47 - $46,691.69
