DESCRIPTION
Cumberland County Public Library is an important resource for our community, offering access to diverse materials, innovative programs, and welcoming spaces for learning and connection. As a Librarian I in Adult Services, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service at the Adult Services Desk, helping patrons access information, technology, and recreational resources. This position also supports the library’s mission by contributing to engaging programs that meet the evolving needs of our community. When assigned, you may serve as Team Leader to ensure a safe and positive environment for both patrons and staff. QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in library science is required.
Trainee applicants must have completed at least 75% of required course work towards an MLS and submit a letter from the Dean of the Library School that states the number of credit hours already obtained and that the candidate can complete all Master’s degree requirements within 12 months.
Background check with local law enforcement agency and drug test required.
Driving is an essential function of this position. Candidate must have or obtain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License within sixty (60) days of employment
