DECSRIPTION
We are seeking an engaging leader who will mentor their staff; design and implement creative adult and family programs and services; and curate inclusive, high-quality collections. This position is ideal for a person who is ready to share innovative ideas and build relationships that will enrich the lives of community members. The Adult Services Librarian supervises a team of 9 library specialists and assistants. This employee provides reader’s advisory, genealogy, and reference assistance; and promotes library services and resources through creative displays and marketing. The Adult Services Librarian successfully collaborates with staff to boost community engagement. They are responsible for statistical reports and managing departmental budgets. Evening and weekend work for community and special events, as needed, is expected. Our library system has a main library in Lumberton, NC and six affiliated libraries located throughout the county. This position provides and directs these services for the entire library system.
QUALIFICATIONS
ALA accredited MLS; 1 to 3 years of public library and supervisory experience are preferred; NC Public Librarian Certification preferred; must hold or be eligible for valid NC driver's license; Thorough knowledge of public library services and programs; ability to communicate effectively with the public and members of the staff; ability to use independent judgement, demonstrate a positive attitude, cultural sensitivity, and to represent the library in a professional manner; excellent organizational skills; strong technology skills
SALARY
$52,000 - $54,080 / Annually
