Description: Adult Services Librarians have the primary responsibility of providing programs and services in an Adult Services Department. Librarians develop, promote and present an impressive array of programs that cover different areas, including arts, literature and recreational reading, careers, education, crafts, and other areas of interest to personal development. They also share in the facilitation of monthly Book Discussions. Librarians provide one-on-one professional services to library members in areas such as job and resume preparation, research help, and developing custom reading lists. Most services are appointment-based. Librarians collaborate with Adult Services Managers and other Librarians on system-wide programming themes. In addition, Librarians work on a public service desk providing excellent customer service. They assist members with reference, readers’ advisory, and computer questions, and are responsible for the maintenance and merchandizing of areas of the library collection. All Librarians serve as Manager on Duty in the absence of Library Managers.

Qualifications: Master's Degree in Librarianship or related field: MLS, MLIS, MIS, ML from an ALA-accredited program or NC program.

Salary: $20.19-$27.26 / hour
