Associate Director for Content and Discovery - Duke Medical Center Library

Description: The Associate Director for Content and Discovery is responsible for selecting, deselecting, purchasing, licensing, and insuring intuitive access to the Library's electronic and print collections. This position is a key member of the Library's planning and management groups and administers all aspects of the Library's collections. As lead for the integrated Content and Discovery team, the Associate Director manages technical and access services for the Library and provides guidance and coaching for the 5-person unit. They also are primarily responsible for selecting, negotiating, and licensing the Library's electronic resources. They collaborate with other libraries at both Duke University and the Triangle Research Libraries Network to evaluate shared contracts, consortial deals, and transformative agreements. The Associate Director will work closely with library administration to allocate collection budgets effectively to meet the information needs of the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, and other Duke Health patrons.

Qualifications: Masters in Library/Information Science or equivalent combination of other education and experience. A minimum of 5 years of library experience with serials, electronic resources, or other technical services, and increasing project management or supervisory responsibilities.
