Description: The Associate Director provides expertise and leadership for the Center for Southeast North Carolina Archives and History, one of five major functional divisions in the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Randall Library. The Center’s collections are composed of Government Information, Special Collections, and University Archives, and its goal is to connect the people and communities of Southeast North Carolina to the sources of their history and culture by collecting and digitizing materials, providing access to those materials, educating the campus and broader region about that history and culture, encouraging and engaging scholarship on the region, and supporting and partnering with regional cultural heritage groups. This position serves as a member of Randall Library’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT), responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the library and its services, spaces, and resources. This is a 12-month, renewable, non-tenure track special faculty position reporting to the Dean of Randall Library. 

Qualifications: Master’s degree in library, information, or archival sciences from an ALA-accredited institution, or an equivalent advanced degree & relevant experience in academic archives or special collections Five years of increasingly responsible, professional, supervisory work experience in academic special collections administration and leadership, staff supervision and evaluation, collection development, research services, and programming and outreach.
