Description:
The AV Digitization and QC Specialist is responsible archival restoration and re-recording of deteriorating audio recordings and the creation of quality controlled digital packages that are readied for preservation.
Under the direction of the Associate Head of Repository Services, the specialist will be responsible for restoration, playback and transfer of audio and video recordings, the technical documentation of transfer processes, and the installation, set-up and maintenance of studio equipment. The specialist will be responsible for keeping up with best practices in the field, such as handling and digitizing of unique AV formats, QC technical automation, and preservation package creation. The specialist will work closely with other units in the library to complete projects for both in house digitization and vendor digitization. The specialist will act as an expert in the area of AV digitization and AV QC and may be responsible for training staff and students.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in computer information technology, Computer Technology Integration; Networking Technology, or related areas and two years of experience in the Information Technology field related to the position’s role; or a Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position’s role, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Math or Engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in the Information
