Position Description: This position supervises the operation of a branch library in the Lincoln County Public Library System. Manages the day-to-day operations of a branch library, including scheduling and directing the work of branch staff. Develops, implements, schedules, and monitors adult and children’s programming. Establishes policies and procedures to optimize staff efficiency. Balances money drawer and prepares financial report; keeps copies of all deposit slips to ensure accurate financial records. Compiles monthly statistical reports on library use and program attendance. Ensures that library facility, grounds, and equipment are properly maintained. Participates in annual planning and implementation of the Summer Learning Program. Assists in the selection and weeding of materials in the branch location. Supervises the provision of customer services.
Qualifications: Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field. Master of Library Science degree preferred. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years’ experience or service. Possession of or ability to readily obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Salary: HOURLY RATE RANGE: $26.70-$28.04
