Description: The position provides difficult administrative work supervising a branch library; providing excellent customer service to library patrons, supervising and training staff, assisting with collection development, ensuring that the building and facilities are properly maintained, promoting the library and its resources and services to the community, organizing programming for all-ages for the branch, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Library Director. This work requires the regular exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 40 pounds of force; professional written, spoken and oral communication skills; and frequent crouching, pushing, pulling and lifting.
Qualifications: Applicants should possess an associate degree with coursework in library science or related field and considerable experience working in a library or clerical position and demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and software applications, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid NC Driver's License is required.
