Description: As Branch Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the McGirt-Horton Branch. This includes managing public service functions, scheduling staff, and evaluating branch programs and services. You will also play a key role in shaping the library’s offerings for children, teens, and adults by developing and assessing programs. Additionally, you will supervise staff, ensuring that they are well-supported, trained, and working collaboratively toward library goals.

Your responsibilities will include working the public service desk, answering reference questions, providing readers advisory, and resolving issues related to customers’ library accounts. As part of the Library’s Managers Team, you’ll collaborate on system-wide initiatives and help manage the branch budget. This is a role that will allow you to engage directly with the community, assess its needs, and respond with creative and impactful solutions.

Qualifications:

(Minimum)

  • Master’s Degree with 4-6 years of experience managing a library facility, operations, and distribution of library materials.
  • “OR” Bachelor’s Degree with 8-10 years of experience managing a library facility, operations, and distribution of library materials.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

(Preferred)

  • Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) 
  • Master’s Degree in a related field (i.e. Education, Business, etc.). 
  • Experience using library ILS (e.g., Horizon). 
  • Supervisory experience 
  • Experience supervising/managing a large youth services program.

Salary: $52,021-$68,449 entry
