Description:
The Branch Managers for McGirt Horton and Glenwood (2 vacancies) are responsible for efficiently and effectively operating a library branch, providing excellent customer service, and engaging with colleagues and the community. This position supervises public service operations--circulation, scheduling meeting/work spaces, and delivering library services and programs for children, teens, and adults.
Key Responsibilities: Public Relations and Community Engagement: Serve as the primary contact for community inquiries and customer service. Manage the public service desk, assist with reference, readers' advisory, and resolve concerns.
Administration: Assist in strategic planning and response to community needs. Serve on the Library’s Managers Team, develop and assess branch-specific programs, manage budgets, and report statistics.
Human Resource: Supervise and develop branch staff, create work schedules, foster teamwork, participate in recruitment, selection, training, and evaluations.
Facility Management: Oversee branch maintenance, safety, and functionality. Coordinate facility improvements and regulatory compliance. Implement safety measures and conduct inspections.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree with 4-6 years of experience managing a library facility, operations, and distribution of library materials.
- Experience providing excellent customer service and managing public service operations.
- Supervisory experience, including staff development and team leadership.
- Budget monitoring, performance analysis, and strategic planning experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years public library work experience.
- Experience Using ILS (WISE).
- Experience supervising extensive youth services programs.
- Experience in strategic planning/community engagement.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Salary: $52,021-$68,449 entry
