Description: This position provides library services and programming for children, families, and caregivers that reflects the interests and needs of Wayne County communities. Directs the development, promotion, and implementation of library services, programming, and materials. Represents the library on special committees and boards, and oversees and participates in community events and outreach activities. Supervises staff in the department, serves as a member of the Library’s management team, and is committed to working towards achieving the Library’s vision, mission, and strategies. This position provides leadership and oversight of Children’s Services for the Library System.
Qualifications: Master's Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association-accredited institution. Preferred: Five years of experience in a professional library position, including some supervisory experience.
