Description: The Children's Services Manager leads the delivery of educational, skills and developmental programs and services to youth ages birth to 12 and provides leadership and oversight for the children’s department staff. In addition to managerial responsibilities, the selected candidate will be responsible for delivering programs and assisting with standard library tasks. The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative, reliable, and flexible team player with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Located across the street from East Mecklenburg High School, Independence Regional sees a high volume of afterschool teen customers during the school year. This candidate should possess an ability to engage teen populations.
Qualifications: Minimum of five years of progressive Library experience, specifically in Children, Youth and/or Family Services. Master’s Degree in Library Science Preferred. 2+ years of proven experience in managing and developing teams. Demonstrates passion and commitment to education, lifelong learning and solving community challenges. Demonstrates high-energy, highly interpersonal leadership style. Demonstrates ability to create a work environment that embraces change at all levels, and the skills to lead those change processes. Demonstrates success collaborating closely with direct manager/supervisor to find incremental value, unlock maximum potential and produce optimal results. Demonstrates effectiveness coaching and developing employees, supervisors, and managers.
Salary: $67,095.00 - $83,868.00
