Description: Gardner-Webb University invites applications for a full-time (40 hours per week) Circulation and Periodicals Assistant in the Library. This position works in multiple areas of the library, particularly staffing Circulation in the evenings, and maintaining Reserves and Periodicals. Serves as backup to Interlibrary Loan and AV/Printing. Staffs the circulation desk in the evening, handling checkout, check-in, issuing of community patron cards, reserves, overdues, etc. Processes incoming periodicals, including claiming missing issues, shelving or filing, and maintaining statistics and preparing reports. Supervises and trains student workers in the evenings. Assists students in use of computers, printers, and other Library equipment and in finding library resources. Prepares materials for faculty reserves and oversees the reserves operation. Requires four evenings (Monday - Thursday) (2:00 - 11:00 p.m.) and all day on Friday (8:00 - 5:00).
Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Demonstrated evidence of a team-oriented, professional mindset with the experience and ability to be a creative problem solver. Preferred experience in Blackboard and Microsoft Office technologies. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility. Excellent communication skills. Previous library experience preferred.
