More managers are choosing to retire or reduce their hours, which in turn creates exciting new openings. We will closely examine the excitement, rewards, pitfalls, and demands that come with transitioning from co-worker to supervisor. Discussions will focus on internal promotions and upward mobility.

Encouraged to attend are co-workers looking to support peers as they move into supervisory and leadership roles, as well as managers and directors who want to ensure that recognizing potential and promoting from within will maintain healthy dynamics within their library. With an emphasis on the positive effect of clear, equitable mentoring and network activities, we will share tips and strategies to build diverse, inclusive, and empowered leadership. We will focus on new networks, how to set and maintain a professional tone, as well as how to manage the balance between old relationships and new responsibilities. At the end of this webinar, the attendees will be able to:

  • Learn the tools and insight to navigate their new roles.
  • Recognize how to empower the most positive outcomes for the paradigm shift of existing relationships.

This webinar will be presented by Dr. Resa Mai, Director of Morris Area Public Library, IL.
