Description: The Collections and Access Leader provides strategic visionary leadership to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library’s (CML) efforts to offer superior delivery of collections and the procedures and systems that support access collections and resources that support community. Managing approximately $6M annual collections budget; contributing to budget evaluation and requests each year. Making day-to-day decisions affecting library collections and best practices for delivering access at all service points, including how these collections are evaluated/purchased; discovered/accessed; and managed for optimal usage. Overseeing the efficient delivery of a consistently excellent level of customer experience at all access points. Seeing and understanding the big picture to drive increases in circulation and library use through collection development, service delivery changes and merchandising of resources. Reviewing, interpreting, and making recommendations on policies and procedures for circulation, customer service, and collection management. Serving as a liaison, both internally and externally, on matters pertaining to library collections and access delivery.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution is required. NC Public Librarian certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Minimum 5-10 years successful and progressive Library leadership. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and track spending to ensure financial policies and procedures.
