DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the University Librarian, the Collections & Discovery Librarian provides leadership for the acquisition, description, discovery, and ongoing management of the library’s print and electronic collections. This position oversees the full lifecycle of resources in all formats and plays a key role in optimizing access and discovery through the Ex Libris Alma Library Services Platform (LSP) and Primo VE discovery interface.
The Collections & Discovery Librarian coordinates Collections Management operations, including acquisitions, cataloging/metadata, serials, and e-resources, and ensures that workflows support an exceptional user experience. The position also manages the library materials budget, collaborates on collection development, and serves as the primary contact with the Western North Carolina Library Network (WNCLN) and other consortial partners to leverage shared systems and resources effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Library and/or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program (or equivalent degree recognized by ALA).
SALARY
$70,000-$74,301 / ANNUALLY
