Description: The Communications Administrative Specialist is a part of the State Library of North Carolina and is responsible for supporting the State Library’s operational and programmatic goals. The communications administrative specialist is a member of a 4-person administrative support team with responsibility for program support, procurement, communications, financial record-keeping and records management duties that support all State Library programs. Key responsibilities include performing a variety of procurement, communications, financial record-keeping, records management and program support duties such as coordinating logistical arrangements for workshops and meetings at the State Library and other locations across the state; processing travel reimbursements; updating website content; and processing applications and other documentation for North Carolina Public Librarian Certification and the State Aid grant program.

Qualifications: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience using current office technology and/or applications. Demonstrated experience using specialized software and/or database systems such as electronic procurement systems, Access, MS Excel, and/or Adobe Acrobat. Demonstrated experience operating and/or troubleshooting standard office equipment. Demonstrated experience using web content management systems such as Drupal, Dreamweaver, and/or WordPress. Demonstrated experience working in technical support. Demonstrated experience with listservs, blogs and/or other web-based communication platforms.

Salary: $31,200 - $38,000
