Description: The Communications & Digital Engagement Librarian serves as communications and marketing librarian for the State Library and will manage the State Library of North Carolina’s digital marketing strategy and marketing initiatives. This position works closely with staff in all sections in support of the State Library of North Carolina’s work, goals, and mission through engaging audiences through a variety of formats and consistent messaging and content. This librarian position will build and maintain sustainable, productive communication and working relationships between the library, stakeholders, and other groups. This position may be a part of the standard reference desk and chat rotation and weekend reference desk staffing rotation.

Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of policies, practices and trends related to library science, library outreach, marketing and library programming. Demonstrated experience writing and editing material for a variety of audiences for newsletters, social media, websites, or other outreach or communications initiatives. Demonstrated experience managing outreach projects or initiatives. Demonstrated experience using online publishing platforms such as content management systems (e.g. Drupal, Wordpress, etc.), social media, MailChimp/Constant Contact, and more.
