Description: To be a public face for the Library and to lead the Library’s community engagement and outreach efforts and activities; identify, build, and manage partnerships with community members, organizations, businesses, government officials, and other entities throughout Gaston County; provide active, strategic leadership for librarywide outreach activities and community relations. Actively work to meet the needs of customers who: cannot use library in traditional manner; do not have access to a physical branch; and are underserved. Establish non-building-based library service delivery models that further engagement and address barriers to library use and literacy. Use data, assessment tools, and community conversation to determine needs and translate those needs into action based on strategic priorities. Use evaluation tools to evaluate and articulate the impact of programs and services. Prepare and submit grant applications, project proposals and funding requests to support programs and services. Serve as grants administrator; oversee expenditures; prepare necessary reports.
Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in Library and/or Information Science from an ALA accredited institution is required. Also required: significant experience in community engagement, relationship building, and/or government relations; experience and commitment to serving diverse populations and traditionally underserved populations; experience in program planning and presentations. Familiarity with grant processes a plus.
Salary: $56,529.20 - $96,097.04
