DESCRIPTION
An employee in this position is responsible for representing the library at outreach events that promote library programs, resources and services, as well as facilitating public technology classes to support digital literacy and technology skills development efforts. Responsible for maintaining an annual outreach calendar and coordinating staff participation in outreach events.
•Develops and manages outreach calendars for outreach events; assists with recruiting library staff for outreach events as needed.
•Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of outreach activities.
•Assists other community engagement staff with providing programs and one-on-one instruction to clients and customers at community partner organizations and library locations to teach different digital navigation and computer skills
•Answers complex customer questions about information and technology resources in person, over the phone and through virtual chat.
•Works with appropriate library staff to create brochures and informational materials on library resources
•Performs intermediate troubleshooting of library equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master of Library Science degree required.
Trainee applicants must have completed at least 75% of required course work towards an MLS and submit a letter from the dean of the library school that states the number of credit hours already obtained and that the candidate can complete all master’s degree requirements within twelve months.
SALARY
$47,331.34/year
