Description:
The Data Science Teaching Librarian designs, develops, and delivers training sessions on data and visualization topics, as part of an open workshop series offered to the university community and/or as course-integrated instruction sessions. They coordinate the DVS open workshop series and/or instruction program, including: creating and documenting procedures; tracking completion of assessment needs; reviewing and assessing offerings; and developing outreach strategies. They conduct outreach to and engage with faculty, campus groups, and external partners to support the university’s data and visualization needs.
They provide training on delivering workshop-style instruction to the graduate student assistants and to other members of DVS. They provide consultative support for students, faculty, and researchers on data science and visualization topics. The position deeply considers how their approach to their daily work reflects and advances the Libraries’ Strategic Plan, creating an environment and community that is welcoming for both patrons and colleagues alike.
Qualifications:
- ALA-accredited MLS, MIS, or other relevant, advanced degree
Salary: $77,000 minimum
