Description: The Deputy Library Director will oversee the library’s branch services with an emphasis on excellent services and effective policies and procedures. The position is also responsible for implementing innovative methods for organizational development to ensure the library meets its strategic goals. The Deputy will assist in the oversight of personnel, policy, and procedure activities in the system; assists in supervisor training, the creation and presentation of training modules; coordinates all statistical gathering procedures for the library system, ensures that system-wide library security is maintained through procedure/training and coordinates with library leadership and library team members to evaluate and implement system-wide security procedures to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all customers; lead efforts to provide excellent customer service with a focus on effective and consistent evaluation and improvement; oversee process to update/ improve public service policies and procedures; manage special projects/tasks, providing updates and reports as necessary and requested.
Qualifications: A Master of Library Science degree and at least five years of progressively responsible professional library and administrative/ supervisory experience. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement. Obtain the North Carolina Public Librarian Certification Commission. Maintain a valid driver's license.
Salary: $77,144.39 - $887,16.05 annually
