Description:
The Catawba County Library is seeking two dedicated and compassionate Adult Education Instructors to teach basic computer skills and digital literacy to a diverse group of adult learners. This role focuses on supporting adult veterans, seniors, economically disadvantaged persons, minorities, non-English speakers, and formerly incarcerated individuals. Your work will be vital in helping these learners gain essential digital and information-gathering skills to meet their personal needs and the workforce needs of the state. This position fully funded through December 31, 2026 with grant funds. Due to needs of the population served, one of the positions will be required to be bilingual (Spanish-English).
Responsibilities:
* Plans, coordinates, facilitates, and actively promotes a variety of inclusive digital literacy workshops.
* Planning lessons and activities to facilitate students' acquisition of basic and advanced computer skills using the NorthStar Digital Literacy online learning platform.
* Ensure that equipment remains in excellent working condition.
Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education, English, Communications, Information Technology, Library Science, or a related field; OR
Associate's Degree in Business, Education, English, Communications, Information Technology, Library Science, or a related field and 1 year of experience in a library or related public facing customer service or educational setting; OR
High School diploma or GED equivalent and 3 years of experience in a library or related public facing customer service or educational setting
Salary: $41,820.11/year
