Description: The Digital Projects Librarian is primarily responsible for NCpedia, the online encyclopedia about North Carolina and ANCHOR (A NC History Online Resource), a digital NC history textbook. The Digital Projects Librarian facilitates the selection and integration of appropriate publications, content, images, and media into digital projects managed by the State Library of North Carolina. Identifies appropriate publications, content, images, and media for NCpedia, ANCHOR, and other digital projects. Negotiates and secures usage permissions for such from partners and providers. Digitizes items as necessary; integrates images and media into digital projects. Ensures appropriate copyright notices accompany all images, media, or content. Fact checks newly submitted entries for select digital projects. Contributes to the growth of the Digital Collections through scanning and metadata activity and supports web archiving activities as defined by the State Library’s current goals, programs, and initiatives. Interacts with K-12 teachers and students to determine needs and prioritize content development.
Qualfications: Master's degree in library and information science or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional librarian experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary: $42,780 - $50,430
