DESCRIPTION
Under limited supervision, this position will be responsible for assessing materials for digitization, choosing the best workflow, scanning items, describing them with established metadata standards, performing initial quality control, and uploading to the Center’s content management systems. The person in this position will promote the Center’s work through blog posts and conferences. They must be able to work independently and make appropriate judgements while working with partner materials. Occasional solo travel for partner site visits may be required.
This is a time-limited position, contingent upon the availability of funds.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in library services, office support, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience scanning special collections materials like manuscripts, photographs, bound materials.
Experience creating metadata for special collections materials.
Experience with digital library content management systems.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Experience following established documentation.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal and organizational skills.
