Description: The Director of the State Library of North Carolina Accessible Books and Library Services (SLNC ABLS) is an innovative, collaborative, and knowledgeable leader who establishes the direction and goals for SLNC ABLS, and ensures that SLNC ABLS services, programs, staff positions, and resources support and align with State Library, NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR), and State of N.C. needs and priorities. The Director serves as Regional Librarian for North Carolina as SLNC ABLS is part of the network of libraries with the Library of Congress’s National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled. The Director values and regards diversity and accessibility and represents the needs and interests of a variety of people and backgrounds in North Carolina, and prioritizes employee engagement and iterative processes to evolve services to meet a broad range of user needs.

Qualifications: Master's degree in library and information science or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of professional librarian experience, three of which should have been in a supervisory, consultative, or administrative capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary: $61,209 - $89,000
