Description: Coordinates efforts to optimize discovery through the Integrated Library Systems. Produces original and complex copy cataloging in a variety of formats for library collections according to national, shared system, and local standards; performs general catalog maintenance such as bibliographic records enhancement, reclassifications, holdings updates, and item record editing. Compiles statistical reports of bibliographic data. Develops policies, goals, procedures, and workflows for cataloging and processing library materials in all formats. Works collaboratively with Atkins Library’s faculty and staff to assess the Library’s online resource discovery environment; develops and implements strategies and innovative solutions to improve external and internal user experience and maximize system functionality. Trains cataloging staff in cataloging/metadata standards, new technology applications, systems, and tools to continuously improve cataloging efficiency and quality; supervises daily operations of copy catalogers.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution. Knowledge of current and emerging models and tools used by libraries for resource discovery. One year of recent cataloging/metadata experience in an academic or research library.
