Description: The Distribution Services Assistant performs more complex clerical and manual tasks in receiving, verifying, storing, issuing, and shipping various supplies, materials, and equipment for Duke University Libraries (DUL) and other non-DUL service points. They deliver collection materials and other library-related items to various library locations, including DUL facilities, professional school libraries, other campus locations and an offsite service facility. They process mail and book shipments and receipt of materials, mail and packages. They also assist with the maintenance and service needs for the Perkins, Bostock, and Rubenstein (PBR) facilities.

Qualifications: Work requires knowledge of basic mathematical and clerical principles normally acquired through high school education. Work generally requires six months of stocking, moving, storage, inventory, clerical, accounting or related experience to acquire a practical knowledge of inventory transactions and record keeping requirements and techniques.
