Description

The Duke Family Processing and Digitization intern will rehouse, arrange, and describe archival collections related to Duke family history and possibly remediate or enhance existing description. They will also digitize, perform quality control of digital files, and participate in the process of creating and sustaining digital collections. 

This internship will provide a unique opportunity to engage with a variety of collections as they move through their analog to digital lifecycle and offer excellent hands-on experience for candidates seeking a career in archival processing and/or cultural heritage digitization or digital collections.

Qualifications

Education: 
Required: Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree and be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate from an accredited advanced degree program. 

Experience: 
Required: Excellent communication skills; ability to work independently (after training) and as a member of a team; accurate and detail-oriented; comfort and familiarity with Excel, Box, and Teams; and respect for privacy and confidentiality.

Salary: $18/hr
